What is stored, and who can read it?
The application stores chat-session and message records, setup preferences, participant-bound memory where a code is used, and operational events. Conversations are not anonymous simply because a participant code is used. Project policy limits access to authorised project personnel and allows safety, operational and research review as applicable. Do not assume that only you can read your messages.
The exact retention periods, deployed processing providers and current access arrangements need confirmation from Dominic Sweeting. This page is not a complete privacy notice. Avoid sharing unnecessary identifying or sensitive information.
Memory and deletion
The formal pilot can carry forward selected setup preferences, ordinary-topic labels and explicit feedback about what helped or did not help. General testing may use broader experimental memory. Memory is selective and fallible.
Settings provide “View remembered information”, correction and forgetting for displayed items, and “Clear remembered context”. Clearing context preserves the participant code and basic setup. Starting a new conversation does not clear participant memory. These controls do not promise deletion of transcripts, backups or all project records. Contact Dominic Sweeting for access, correction, deletion or withdrawal requests.
Messages and check-ins
Whether the chatbot can contact you, and which opt-in or notification controls are available, needs verification. This site makes no promise about check-ins or monitoring.
Use and research participation
General testing is separate from formal research participation. Research requires a validated enrolled code and the information and consent process for that study. A testing user is not automatically enrolled. You may stop using the companion at any time; formal withdrawal follows the study’s stated process and window.
The application does not offer complete self-service withdrawal or retention controls. Ask for the study-specific information before agreeing to participate.
